at school now!

So, I've arrived at college. Everything is as I thought it would be; the air is fresh, the people are beautiful (kind of), and everyone is happy. I'm happy. College is nice.

Move in day was yesterday, which was crazy, with everyone dragging bags and boxes everywhere. I met a bunch of nice girls who are living on my floor later in the day, and they really are very sweet; but as of so far, no one really seems to be my... type? of person. Does that make sense?

Anywho, my roommate is cool. Out of all the people on my floor, I think she's the most decent. I have yet to really get to know the other people, so, we shall see. Who knows, maybe I'll make a really close friend of one of the girls here.

Oh, and I went to Orientation the day before yesterday, and the day before that. Haha, I was actually overwhelmed by the enormity of the campus, and the realization of the fact that I'll probably get lost at least 5 times the first week. Possibly 10. Maybe 15. hmmm.

... Moving on. So having gone through the two-day Orientation, and the Move-in Day stuff, today is the first day of something the school calls "welcome week". Basically, this is one week where all the students are put through socializing and orientation activities. For example, in an hour and 45 minutes I have a seminar session thing called "How to Get Involved". I assume they're going to tell us how to get involved in stuff on campus. My roommate's going to that too, so I'll probably be going with her.

Oh and! Two friends who I met at a summer program called EPGY at Stanford University are going to my uni as well, so yesterday evening we met up and it was amazing! It's so surreal that an entire year has passed already, and now we're in college. At the same college. Which is, by the way, entirely coincidental. We by no means planned that. And I'm being completely serious, no sarcasm there. (for once)

So yes. I think this will be a fun year, with good people, and I trust that I'll be making a lot of new memories that I'll keep forever over the next few months. With that mindset, I leave you now. I'm going to go shopping with a friend. Yay, socializing. :)

Laters,
Michelle.
