school year 2011-12, let's go!

Hi guys,

This is my first blog post of the academic year 2011-2012. I'm so tired, I've been so disgustingly busy lately, haha. Sorry for the delay!

Well, I flew in to LAX from Newark on the eleventh of August, moved into my townhouse on the twelfth, went to IKEA and target on the thirteenth to buy a bed and a small dresser for myself, got my ikea bed delivered on sunday the fourteenth as well as brought all of my stuff over from storage with the help of my roommate who has a car, and then on the fifteenth I went to a training retreat with JEP at Palm Springs. WHEW that was definitely a run on sentence! I came back to USC from Palm Springs on the seventeenth, and had training at the JEP house again all day on the eighteenth. That day, I also helped a friend move his stuff from storage to his new apartment. On the nineteenth until the twenty first, I unpacked, organized my belongings that had come out of storage, met with friends who were coming back to school from their summer vacations, and reviewed course materials... And yesterday was the first day of class!

So far, since it's only been the first couple of days of classes, the actual material discussed doesn't seem that difficult. However, a couple of these classes seem like I'm going to really have to stay on top of the coursework and do a fair bit of reading and memorization. But it's okay! I enjoy keeping myself busy.

I'm also doing my position at JEP this year, as well as Peer Health Exchange and the Community Health Involvement Project. I don't know if I'll be able to still be a part of DDS (Delta Delta Sigma, the pre-Dental Honor Society at USC) because I have class during their meeting time. We'll see. Also, I think I have the same issue with the Red Cross... Which I really really want to stay a part of. So we'll see, hopefully something will work out!

By the way, here's a copy of my schedule, in case you were curious:

Those classes are:
BISC421: Neurobiology
PSYC360: Abnormal Psychology
CHEM203: AIDS Drug Discovery and Development
HP320: The Biological and Behavioral Basis of Disease
FREN150: French 2
... That's a total of 20 credits, where the normal full time student does 16 credits per semester. (four classes) With a job and two volunteer activities! I'm going to be so busy, I love it. :D

My JEP office hours are as follows;
Monday: 8:50-10:50, 11:55-13:55
Tuesday: 8:50-10:50
Wednesday: 8:50-10:50, 11:55-13:55
Thursday: 8:50-10:50, 12:25-15:25
And the three hour shift on Thursday is going to be removed after the first five weeks of classes. Oh and, it turns out that at JEP, there really isn't too much to do; so, when I get to work, I am busy with JEP stuff for a little while, and once I get that over with, I can basically just do what I want for the rest of my time there. Very nice!

Here's a picture of the two beds in my room!

Aren't they beautiful? yaaaaaaaaaay! My bed is the dark one on the left.

This semester, I'm going to be successful. I'm so motivated! ^_^

Well, I'm going to go now because I want to write a two page review of the JEP training retreat before french class at six, which is in half an hour.

Goodbye for now! Be well!
