PAOLO!

I have nothing to say right now, I woke up this morning at 10, went to eat breakfast, and I'm gonna go nap in a little bit. I'm still tired from the excitement of last night.

But I just wanted to say,
wow wow wow wow wow wow Paolo Nutini is a deity, he's amazing live! He sounds so so so so good, and wow.

Wow.

That's all.

labor day weekend

WOW life has been busy lately. I haven't had a chance to add to this, sorry sorry sorry.

Well, last week it felt like for the first time classes were settling down into what they're actually going to be for the rest of the semester. Now we're actually slowly learning some stuff, and getting work to do.

Speaking of work, last night I wrote a 7 page essay for my writing class due for Wednesday. Yaaay. If you're interested, the prompt was, "What are the vital philosophical and/or social implications of the evolution debate, and how do these implications manifest in society?" I concentrated on the implications of the evolution debate on religion. And vice versa. And now I'm about to start reading 190 pages of The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins for my writing class. Hopefully I can get that done relatively quickly, because it's supposed to be read for Friday. eep.

Anywho, so that was monday to friday last week; classes, working, etc.

The weekend though, there's actually something to tell (other than the fact that I've been working like crazy for the past two days). On Saturday, USC played the first American football game of the season, against San Jose State University. Wow the first quarter didn't go so well for us as we scored nothing, but second quarter we scored 28 points, third 14, and fourth 14. SJSU scored 3 points first quarter, and then nothing for the rest of the game.

HAHAHAHAHA the score ended up being 56 - 3, USC.
How embarrasing, I almost felt bad for SJSU.
But I will not lie, the USC football team is incredibly good. Now I know why the Trojans have such a strong history in college football.

Furthermore, the USC marchinig band, called "The Spirit of Troy", wow. They are well and truly incredible. At half time they played stuff by Madonna, Radiohead, and Michael Jackson, and it was really very clever and well executed (I particularly appreciated the Radiohead, because I love Radiohead with an intense passion). On top of that, they have such amazing coordination, they play together with incredible quality. And they did this little dance while performing the Michael Jackson song that my friends and I thought was adorable, they even all synchronized the thriller dance. ^^ hehe.

Oh and the atmosphere at the game was amazing! Everyone was sweating under the blazing sun and the intense heat, but no one cared because the game was so much the focus of attention; you really didn't think about much else. It was really exhilarating too, at one point I think during the third quarter, I actually lept into the air and started screaming when an amazing play was made which led to one of the best touchdowns in the game. Very uncharacteristic of me. The feeling was sort of like, everyone was down there on the field with the players. I don't know, maybe all American football games are like that, but this was the first game I'd ever been to, so I found it awe-inspiring.

The cheerleaders were a bit ridiculous though.
Just thought I'd put that out there.
Jason thought so too.

Moving on.
That was Saturday, the game.
Yesterday was Sunday, I slept in a bit because I was worn out from the day before. Then the entire day I sat at my desk like a loser, desperately trying to finish that essay. For some reason, I was having extreme writer's block, and for a while I was averaging a line per five minutes. It was awful. But later on in the evening I just gritted my teeth and just sort of... Churned out three pages. I mean the quality of writing is probably awful, but that's why revising and editing exists. I'll go back to it later and have a proper unfatigued look at what I wrote.

Today is Monday, but we have no classes because it's Labor Day. As I mentioned earlier, I have to do 190 pages of reading for Friday for my writing class, and that's not even my only homework assignment. Basically I have reading to do from every class, but the writing is the most significant, so I'm going to do as much as I possibly can of that every day.

And I suppose in a blog you write about what has happened, not what will happen. However, I find this event in the near future extremely exciting, so I shall write it anyway.

So, me, Jason, Alexa, and one of Jason's friends from Singapore who's going to come visit soon are..
...
...

GOING TO SEE PAOLO NUTINI ON FRIDAY THE ELEVENTH OF SEPTEMBER.
Oh my goodness I am so excited, I love Paolo Nutini so much. I do not think my brain cells can handle the current level of excitement I have running through my blood. Every time I think of walking into that room and seeing Paolo, my brain spins. I mean seriously, I never thought I'd see anyone as amazing as Paolo Nutini, live! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

.... HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I'M SO EXCITED.

... okay I will stop now. But you do understand how excited I am for this, right?

Oh and by the way, if you don't know who Paolo Nutini is, go to youtube and look for
New Shoes - Paolo Nutini
Jenny Don't be Hasty - Paolo Nutini
These Streets - Paolo Nutini
Those are some of this songs which I adore. Immensely.

woo wooo woooooo.

So I just realized a little while ago that since this is Los Angeles, THERE ARE GOING TO BE SO MANY CONCERTS HERE OF MUSIC ARTISTS THAT I LOVE. :D :D :D
In fact, wow wow wow this blew my mind like a hurricane,
GROUNDATION IS COMING TO WEST HOLLYWOOD ON OCTOBER 9TH.
WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.

I really really really really really really really really really really really wish to go and see that, but I don't know if my friends are into that sort of music. So I'm going to ask around and beg people to come to the show with me, because if I do not see Groundation when they are RIGHT HERE, I will. Die. A slow and painful psychological death. Yes.

Oh Groundation.
Oh Paolo Nutini.

Right now, I'm really happy to be in Los Angeles.
Yes.
